The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it is actually alarmed with regards to the large range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out status sassa to a large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office committed to service the area each day. The service position created for intervention activities a higher influx of probable beneficiaries, that makes it tough to the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more assets to empower the servicing of all prospects and improve entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
